At Transco Waste the real recovery and recycling beings with the separation of the C&D waste into its component parts of clay, stone, wood, steel, plastics and other fibres.

The government target is to recycle and recover 85% of all C&D waste by 2013. Today, in excess of 95% of all C&D waste brought to Transco Waste’s facility is recovered for recycling.

Clay can be used to recover and improve poor land.
Stone, which is crushed on site, can be used for aggregate for roads and foundations.
Wood can be used for energy and in the manufacture of chip board.
Steel can be recycled into new steel.
Plastics and other fibres can be used for fibre fuels.
